Proactive Operations Safety Team

Purpose Statement:

The Proactive Operations Safety Team champions a culture of safety and accountability through education, communication and recognition. This enables each of us to enrich our health and well-being, which enhances the strength of Gazette Communications.

POST is a company-sponsored safety team that is made up of Operations employees, with representation from front-line staff to management. Having a diverse group like this allows POST to have varied input, opinions and experience in promoting a positive, safe work environment. The POST team has received both internal and external training ranging from team building skills to OSHA training. Some of the team initiatives have been creating and enforcing the safety rules, ergonomic stretching program, incentive programs, safety signage and the Safety Scares program. We currently do quarterly walk through inspections and follow up, and injury/incident review. The POST team meets on a regular weekly basis and encourages feedback and suggestions from all employees.
